Tadah’s Creative Director Dave Gilbank never misses a networking opportunity.
He’s been very busy attending local, national and international festivals throughout 2018 showcasing Polterheist, the film he directed this year for India Calling Productions.
Polterheist was co-funded by Tadah Media and unleashed on the international circuit earlier this year. It was recently described by What’s Hot London as “A refreshing take on both the comedy and horror genres and testament to what can be achieved on a limited budget with unlimited vision and great talent.”
In November Dave joined a host of other international filmmakers for the 2018 Leeds International Film Festival.
The Leeds Festival has always been an important date in his calendar. It’s a beacon event for Yorkshire’s film culture and one Dave never misses.
Hugely successful Canadian producer Lars Lehmann was also in town for the festival promoting his own horror epic Knuckleball.
Dave had already met the film’s director Mike Petersen while in Mexico at the Feratum Fantastic Film Festival 2018 and so was delighted to meet Lars.
Like most directors, Dave spends much of his time raising money for the various film projects we have on our slate. So he took the chance to treat Lars to some coffee and cake at Layne’s in Leeds, where they spent a couple of hours discussing Polterheist, Knuckleball and their future plans. For India Calling these include another horror film set in Washington DC.
Lars nearly didn’t get his coffee though as rugby league nut Dave bumped into some of the New Zealand Kiwis, in town to play England. Selling films and talking funding options took a temporary backseat as super fan Dave (despite being an Aussie) grabbed his chance for a selfie.
